Choose a corner and protect it
Keep your highest tile in a corner. Build a descending row beside it, such as 128, 64, 32 and 16. This does not guarantee a win, but it reduces the decisions you need to make. Avoid pulling the highest tile away when a useful alternative exists.
A merge is not always the best move
Before sliding, picture the resulting board and where an empty cell will appear. A small merge can disrupt your main row. Favor moves that make room without separating values you want to combine. A tile merges only once per move: 2–2–2–2 becomes 4–4, not 8.
When the board fills up
Look for merges in secondary rows first. If you must break your order, plan how to recover the corner over the next moves. Do not repeat a direction without looking: every valid move adds a tile. A move that changes nothing adds no tiles.

Use arrows, WASD or swipe across the board. Animations show each tile's path; let the merge finish before deciding. This version ends when you reach 2048. There are no purchases or power-ups.
